Charles Legal Group is a Queensland-based legal practice. We are committed to protecting personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the Anti‑Money Laundering and Counter‑Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth) (AML/CTF Act).

We collect and handle personal information only where reasonably necessary for the provision of legal services or to meet our statutory and professional obligations, including obligations under the AML/CTF Act.

We limit the collection of personal information to the minimum required based on the nature of the transaction and the assessed risk. We do not collect personal information in anticipation of future or speculative use.

Personal information may be disclosed to AUSTRAC or other regulators where required or authorised by law. We take reasonable steps to ensure information is accurate, secure and retained only for as long as legally required.

Individuals may request access to or correction of their personal information or lodge a privacy complaint with us or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
